Cootharinga is the largest not-for-profit organisation based in North Queensland. We have been providing quality services to children and adults for over 60 years.

We are a dedicated team of Allied Health Professionals who are committed to unlocking and maximizing the potential of children with a disability or developmental concerns.

We offer therapy in our relaxed child-friendly centre or at your choice of school, childcare centre, community and home setting.

Eligibility:

We see children aged 0-18 with a disability or developmental concerns.

Referrals:

We take referrals from anyone including: families, GP’s, Allied Health Professionals, teachers, childcare staff, Autism and Better Start Advisors and other community organisations.
You can fax, email or phone to refer.

Costs:

Cootharinga is a registered Allied Health Service provider. Parents and carers of eligible children are able to purchase services from Cootharinga funded by Better Start and Helping Children with Autism Initiatives, resulting in no out of pocket expenses.
Children unable to access government initiatives can use Private Health Fund or Medicare rebates, if applicable.

We strive to be an accessible services and therefore hope to offer you an appointment within two weeks of your referral.
