Registration is now open for your application to recieve the Better Start funding. While face to face interviews are happening in the Bris area – 70% of interviews are currently happening by phone. Townsville is joined with the Rockhampton area at this stage.A few things to know:

1. You CANNOT receive HCWAP and the BETTER START. You must choose which package will serve your needs best

2. If your service provider is NOT on the panel we highly recommend you ask them to apply!

3. 35% of the funding can be used for resources that are deemed part of ‘early intervention’ eg Ipads / boardmaker etc.

4. The medicare items under  Better Start (4 assessment items and 20 therapy session items) are only ONCE OFF. They are per child – not per year like the Enhanced Primary Care Plan items. For more information, check out the Medicare web site .
